Fiji trip
After attending the International Convention in Melbourne, we headed to Fiji for a relaxing holiday.
The country comprises an archipelago of more than 332 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited, and more than 500 islets, amounting to a total land area of about 18,300 square kilometres.
The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the population of almost 860,000. The capital and largest city, Suva, is on Viti Levu. About three-quarters of Fijians live on Viti Levu's coasts, either in Suva or in smaller urban centres like Nadi (tourism) or Lautoka (sugar cane industry).
The people in Fiji are really friendly, and most would greet us with the traditional greeting ‘Bulla’ as we walked past them.
We had such a relaxing time at a resort called Crusoe’s retreat which is located on the Coral coast, which is located on the southern part of the main island of Viti Levu.
Here are some pictures from the resort:
We also managed to go snorkelling off the beach which was fantastic:
One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the Fiji Bethel in Suva, and a meeting at a Kingdom Hall in Navua:
We hope to return to Fiji again as it was very relaxing and tranquil.
We will try hard to update our blog over the coming months
