Perth holiday

                             Perth

Leonie and I are planning a trip to Perth, Western Australia in December with our two Jack Russells.

The trip to Perth alone will take 4 days, and we will cover a round trip distance of almost 6,000 km over a 12 day period.

We will be driving through the famous  Nullabor along some of Australia's best cliff top scenery, stopping off to take in the sights.

We will be camping overnight at the following locations:

  • Ceduna, South Australia (see here)
  • Border Village, Western Australia (see here)
  • Norseman, Western Australia (see here)

until we reach our destination in Perth at the end of day 4. Then we plan to spend a few days in Perth catching up with some friends as well as doing the touristy things.

Then we head back on the long trip home which takes us via Albany and Streaky Bay before arriving back in Adelaide.

We are excited and hope to take lots of pictures of the scenery and wildlife (along with Wayne's usual weird shots) which we will add to our blog after we get back.

Here is a  picture taken on our new Pentax compact digital camera (sadly our little canon Ixus packed up) of a recent sunset - taken in our back garden at around 8pm:

This may be the last post for 2009, so check for new posts soon.

Love to all,

Anniversary getaway

We decided to spend the night away at a nearby resort called Wirrina Cove to celebrate our 8 year anniversary. Wirrina Cove is about 90km away from Adelaide. There are many activities to do - mini golf, tennis, golf, 8-ball (pool), table tennis, horse riding, snorkelling and fishing to name but a few.

The weather was quite warm, and we drove to the nearby marina where we managed to capture pics of a dolphin.

There was also other wildlife that we managed to snap

Sunsets around Adelaide

Here are a few sunset pictures taken around Adelaide. Now that summer is here, there will surely be some fantastic sunsets! The weather this week is set to be 39 degrees for the whole week - probably a record for November

Darwin holiday

We recently attended the 3 day convention in Darwin (which is in the Northern Territory of Australia). Darwin is approximately 4 hours flight north of Adelaide and is in the same time zone.

and then we spent 5 wonderful days in the bush - Litchfield, Kakadu and Nitmiluk:

It was a bit to cold to our taste, but it looks like they enjoyed it.
